Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar claimed in an interview recently that Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered him to work together. According to Pawar, the Prime Minister had also offered his daughter Supriya Sule a place in the Union Cabinet in Surat to form a government together. Lok Sabha MP from Baramati Supriya Sule has now thanked the Prime Minister for this.

Speaking to the media, he said, “I was not in that discussion (between NCP President Sharad Pawar and Modi). I thank the Prime Minister from the depths of my heart for expressing such trust and confidence in me. I am overwhelmed by what he said. But Pawar clearly very politely told the Prime Minister that this is not possible. ”

At the same time, Pawar talked about being with PM Modi on the national interest during the interview. He pointed to PM Modi and said, “We had a good relationship with him yesterday. It is still today and will continue to be so. As long as they talk about the interest of the country and talk of good, then there is no need to oppose it in politics. The disagreements that remain on political issues will remain. There will be no change in it. But when it comes to national interest, my cooperation will be with them. There is no duplication in it. “

It is noteworthy that Pawar met the Prime Minister last month amid talks between NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena to form government in Maharashtra. His nephew Ajit later joined hands with the BJP on the sidelines of party directions. Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 23 November. However, he later resigned from the post and then returned to the party.

Later, Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP government was formed in Maharashtra. When asked about Ajit Pawar’s role in the new government, Supriya said that he is a senior NCP leader. He also said that Ajit Pawar did not join BJP. Supriya said, “This is an internal matter of our party and family. He (Ajit Pawar) will continue to be my elder brother and senior leader of NCP forever. ”
